6 February 2016: the Bioparc is open!

The Bioparc reopens its doors Saturday 6 February 2016, from 10h!

Let's take advantage of the launch of the 2016 season to review the latest births and discuss the new features and upcoming events at Bioparc!
 
The births !
In 2015, 110 young were born: 49 in mammals and 61 in birds. Among these births:
• Ziama, a small female pygmy hippopotamus on November 20
• Amadou Seyni, male giraffe born on April 18
• Male marimonda atle born on October 7
• Tankhamon and Rista, first small armadillos at 6 bands to see the day at the zoo
• A monk vulture and a tawny vulture
• In Southern Great Volière: two macaws of Lafresnaye, many ibis, stilts and for the first time at the Bioparc, a small savacou and a pink spoonbill
• At the Okapi Sanctuary: several small guinea fowls of Pucheran, shadows, a tréron pigeon and a blue bellied rollier
New Residents!
Next spring, the Bioparc will have the pleasure of welcoming a new species: the dwarf mongoose. This curious and playful little mammal will take over the transformed dwarf otter park in March. On the bird side, a pair of blue-throated penelopes and a Maguari stork have settled in the Great Aviary, while the Okapi Sanctuary has been enriched with two brown Egyptian vultures.
New kitchen for animals!
The new centralized kitchen for preparing the menus of the animals is being finalized! Spacious and efficient, it includes all the food storage points: pellet storage, meat and fish refrigerator, fruit and vegetable refrigerator, freezer ... All meals are prepared in optimal conditions For the healers. Thanks to a large bay window overlooking the work surface, visitors will be able to discover the live preparation of the favorite dishes of the animals of the Bioparc as of mid-February!
Highlights of the year!
• From 9 to 24 April 2016: Cro-Magnon rides the sound!
NEW : On the occasion of the Easter holidays, young and old are invited to come and meet a new inhabitant, the Cro-Magnon man, at the Bioparc! For this distant cousin, everything is a source of melodies in nature, so it creates sounds by relying indifferently on animal, vegetable or mineral supports: leaves, bamboo, feathers, bones, wood, nuts ... and Invites visitors to listening for an exhilarating lesson in wild music.
• 12 July 2016: Conservation Day
• July and August 2016: From Sculpture to Nature
• 24 September 2016: Meetings Animal and nature trades
• From 19 October to 2 November 2016: Tales and Tales
15 years of Nature Projects!
2016 is an anniversary year for our commitment to Nature: 15 years of support for associations in the field to protect endangered ecosystems and animal species! Our Nature Projects all have in common that they are led by local actors and aim to protect biodiversity while improving the quality of life of the people who live alongside them. The Bioparc supports 21 Nature Projects.
 

The BIOPARC is open every day from 6 February 2016 to 13 November 2016 included.

Your visit can last from 4 hours to the whole day.

• Validity of ticket
The entrance ticket is valid throughout the day.
You will be able to go out and re-enter the zoo during your day, after being stamped your wrist at the reception.
